If so, please share your thoughts on if it was worth it and where you sourced the materials.

I'm helping setup about 6 rifles for to introduce shooters to precision rifle shooting [not the PRS series] and I'm trying to keep the costs down. Personally, I really like the Pinnacle sling from TAB but the cost with cobra buckle gets up there.

Thanks

This is true! You'll see bad snags on tank traps.

Alright, assume we aren't talking competitions where you are running from one station to the next. Use would be for carry in and out of longer hike locations, stability for tripod use, and unsupported positions

I looked at this one and while looking for videos, I found that there's a company called Short Action Precision making a similar version with a ALICE strap/VTac Sling style adjuster for $90. That's over my budget but I thought I'd share it in there in case someone else is curious.

Talked with my friend that makes slings, and other gear.  It was a full time job for awhile.  He had not priced how much it would cost to make his slings today.  He was buying in bulk for parts, and always looking for a deal.

Do you have the sewing machine that will handle your fabric?  If not, I say buy it made already.

Have you priced the individual parts (webbing, attachment points, buckles, etc)?  How does that compare to cost of buying outright?

The pride from making your own stuff may outweigh all of that.
