Please recommend a good (and better and best if possible) entry level ballistic software app for a long range shooting newbie who may or may not be me. I have an iPhone 16, if that matters. Thanks for any thoughts!

I am using applied ballistics on my phone and in my Kestrel. I recommend it. As long as your data is good it works. I shoot elr and it is close enough to get first round hits a long way out there.

StrelokPro was the best. But, it’s being sanctioned.

Applied Ballistics is good.

Ballistic AE is free and it puts out the right numbers. It also has a range finding feature.

Use the one supported by your range finder (for example, Vortex/GeoBallistics) or your Kestrel (Applied Ballistics).

I used AB with my Kestrel and Sig Kilo.

Switched to GeoBallistics with my Vortex Impact (which talks to the Kestrel).

Geo Ballistics will be my first go-round, then. Many thanks to all the contributors. I'm taking this a step at a time, so I don't have a Kestrel or rangefinder yet. I'm shooting on a KD range (800 yards) for lack of absolutely no place else to go, so ranging is about as simple as it can be. I have invitations from a couple of guys to travel to their places and try shooting quite a bit further.

Chairgun Elite works well and has tons of reticles in it. It was spot on out to 1,200 yards with accurate velocity, BC, and weather data for me at PRS this past year.
