I was thinking about getting the Rifle in the link in a 25 CM Just wondering what your thoughts are on this rifle model or at least on the company. Thanks https://christensenarms.com/product/evoke/ |

I ordered in a CA Evoke in 375 H&H - at 100 yds. It is exactly in the center of the orange with a 250 gr Barnes TTSX RL 15 (76.5 gr) . Not only is the Evoke a fantastic accurate rifle, the presentation is very nice the box even includes a ball cap. The rifle was so nice I ordered a second one the day I received the first rifle. Their other models are ultra light carbon wrapped mostly in Western calibers for hunting in the mountains, but the Evoke is stainless with cerakote over the stainless. The bedding pilars are a special high nickel content material that resist expansion with heat. This is one of the nicest rifles I have ever had. You will not be disappointed. |
| Stocks can be very … personal preference . I like it a lot better than I thought would when I first saw the photo of it . Being a Remington 700 pattern it would be easy to find other styles but from close inspection it really is very nice. Had it on the range today. |

| If you look around you’ll find out their quality has really taken a nose dive in the last few years. I would highly recommend steering clear, I know of 2-3 buddies that have bought them and had various issues from carbon coming apart, to chambers not cut correctly. |

I know they've had issues, but I've heard that their QC is back on track. How old were your buddies' rifles? ETA: Looks like QC's still on the rocks. You might get a good one, or... you might not. |

I'm on their FB Group page. QC issues are still present, but nowhere near as bad as 2 years ago. Seems to be most present with their .22's, their PRC's, and 300 win mag. 25 Creedmoor hasn't popped up that I recall but not a lot of people shoot that. My Ridgeline in 6.5CM is the most accurate gun I've ever shot, but I got it well before the expansion and QC Crisis. As a life long fan, a happy owner, I can tell you I wouldn't buy another until they really prove they've fixed these issues. I definitely wouldn't buy the Ranger 22, it has a lot of issues and it seems like a high percentage of them have it. With that said, a lot of complaints are by people that don't know what the hell they're talking about. They complain about the spot bedding looking ugly, it's spot bedding, who gives a shit as long as it's functioning correctly? This is the very first 6 shots with it, no break in. I usually never sight in chasing one bullet, but I trusted the gun and the Zeiss scope. You can see the 2nd and 3rd shot, then the 3 shot Group at 100 yards with factory Hornady 140gr Match. When you get one that shoots, they're great. If you shoot it and suddenly think you have to do the break in before it groups tight, you got a dud and prepare yourself for shipping it back and forth a few times. Attached File |

| I picked up a MPR in 6.5 creedmore for stupid cheap. Probably cause it is a 16” barrel. It shoots amazing but the quality of the chassis and build quality is exceptionally bad. I’m glad I have it but I wouldn’t want to pay anymore than I did for it which was a little over $1k. |

I briefly owned a Ridgeline in 6.5 PRC. This would have been about 3-4 years ago. Fortunately, mine was a "good" one, but still not good enough to keep. It was quite accurate for a hunting rifle, between .5 and 1" at 100 yards for three shots. I initially had problems with very heavy bolt lift with factory ammo. Eventually I figured out that the chamber needed to be absolutely dry to mitigate that. Yes, I'm aware that chambers/bores are supposed to be dry, but I've never had a rifle that was quite that sensitive to it before. I had no other problems. The trigger was pretty decent, the stock was just okay. The action was never particularly smooth, but acceptable. I liked the 6.5 PRC chambering, but figured it would cost too much to get the rest of the rifle to where I wanted it. In the end, I sold it and built a custom for about what it would have cost to upgrade the Ridgeline. In my opinion, the Ridgeline was a lot of bling on what was otherwise just a somewhat upgraded R700. One would be better served by buying a Tikka on the lower end, or building a custom Remclone on the higher end. |

They are just Remington 700s with a bunch more carbon fiber thrown at the problem. From time to time they have had rifles that are a great value. But I bought their chassis and regret it. For that money I'd look at something like a TL3 + prefit + stock of your choice. You'll spend a little more, but have a lot more flexibility in the future. If you don't love .25 creed - just sell the barrel, pick another caliber, move on. |

I have a co-worker with one of these in 300WM. Had I not been there when his country ass shot the one-hole group at 100 yards, I'd have called bullshit. It's a production rifle with a high, near-custom price tag, but if they all shoot like his, I am a believer. |

My son scored a Mesa in 300WM during the holidays. It's a pretty nice rifle. Especially for the price he paid. Came from the factory with TriggerTech trigger installed. It's only the field model but he's going to replace it with a diamond. Edit: not a carbon fiber model |

Just to revive this a little bit: I am looking for a rifle to take elk hunting in the near future. I think CA is what I'm leaning. Rem 700 pattern, and made in America are 2 big points I'm looking for. And 300WM. I've been handling them at scheels for a little while, and the mesa, for the money, looks like a winner. I do see a lot of hate, and some qc issue, but it really seems like a big portion of it is around the CF barrels. I suspect the hate is largely from guys that don't understand CF barrels, or just outright issues, idk. I will probably get a mesa sometime this year. I'm kind of debating getting a bare action for a "tactical" build in the future. Time will tell. |

Even a small amount of research will show a huge amount of complaints about them. |
