| I decided to barrel my AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I want a heavy profile but not a bull barrel...looking to shoot uo to 1000 yds, maybe 1200. Between Shaw and Criterion, what would be a better choice? |

Criterion Medium Match 20" (308 though) bought from Fulton Armory. They do have the Heavy Hybrid profile in 6.5, but 22" Pretty happy with the accuracy bolted to an Aero Precision upper/lower. Normally shoot it in NRA competition at 600yds. 200yd test load:  500yd NRA Tactical AR Match

I own a handful of Criterions in 223 and 308, and they do shoot pretty well for the money. My AR10 in 308 runs a 22" M118LR chamber, and its a shooter especially with 175 SMK with Varget and LC brass. Consistently sub minute probably averaging 5/8-3/4". I also have a Criterion on a Savage bolt gun, and its easily sub minute, averaging right around 1/2" with 175s and 185s with Varget and Peterson brass. Are Criterions as good as a something like a Bartlien or Brux? No. I own a few of these too, and they will outshoot the Criterions. Dont own any Shaws, so I cant speak to them. |
