Discontinued.
You have to upgrade to new style factory bottom metal and detachable mags.Kit is $400 or so for BM, a 5 rd and a 10rd mag. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1006284088?pid=932445 Best thing would be to sell your mag(s) to defray the upgrade cost. Or find someone upgrading. |

Thanks again WarDawg |

Good thread. I have 4 or 5 of the original-style mags.
Had not heard about the new style bottom metal. Are mags for that readily available? |

There was a company in Florida … CDI…I think I have the company name wrong, they made bottoms to convert the rifles to take AICS size mags. The receiver had to be milled, opened up to fit the mags. The company closed I believe after the owner passed away.
PTG makes a bottom for a Winchester 70. No clue if it will work or not. |

I just ordered the hogue stock with fn tbm bottom metal from Midwest for $175. Added 4 , 5 round mags at $51 each. That will do me till Death do us Part. Thanks for all the help. Seriously. WarDawg

I've always meant to convert my PBR to detachable mags but it's pretty low on my firearms priority list.

I see now that all the Fnh SPR line has been discontinued. I didn’t know that. I’m not into long range actually . But now and then play around. My SPR is a MOA rifle with match ammo. It really likes a load I bought from Ga Arms in Atlanta years ago. I have a small batch (100 ) or so federal match . But never tried it yet. I love the rifle. It’s a heavy pig. Three shots 100 yards. I used to have an SPR that I bought new in 2008. I wish I kept it. |

I ordered a PTG bottom metal for my SPR A5 to replace the TBM. Supposedly MDT mags work without opening up the action but I might never know as I'll be surprised if PTG actually ships the bottom metal in the next year if ever.
Good luck OP. The used market is your only choice unless you want to play PTG roulette and then have your stock inletted if your DBM ever shows up. |

I had a few tell me the fn tbm is a straight swap with no mods at all on an A1 stock. I guess I’ll find out. Lol. Wardawg

Man, I was going to drop a link to Midwest but... yeah, gone. Glad I got a few extra when I did. I've got one of the Tac-Cord "A2" guns that shoots great. Figure I'll just leave it well enough alone until I feel like a whole new stock or something. Glad you were able to find a kit, OP.

The new TBM bolts may need to be fitted/trimmed to work. The front one on mine interfered with the bolt. Be careful. I understand they were made long on purpose as all the stocks may be a little different. Use the proper torque spec of course. It's probably a good idea to remove the barrel/action to install it anyway. Good luck!

My SPR appears to be a unicorn: I have a blind magazine. Not as quick to reload as a detachable, but also nothing to lose and no spare mags to buy.
Does anyone know the serial number ranges for the various variations of the SPR? |

The tan one in the back is H-S Precision, the green one in the front is unknown. I've looked all over that stock and have not been able to find a makers mark. I got it at an estate sale. Whoever the previous owner was did a great job with it.....free floated barrel, bedded action, 2.5 lb trigger. The 700 in front is a .30-06, the SPR and the Savage 10 are both .308. |

Finally installed it Sunday . Rare I have a day off . I loaded the mag twice and cycled all the rounds . Fed perfect. Will say this , loading the rounds in the mag is a little bit of a pain . Slide it in from the rear and then push down. It’s doable. I had to use the original front screw. The supplied screw was a little long. I torqued to 65 inch pounds. Here she is. It fit with no fitting involved. Attached File

Here's mine. I sold it off to fund a R700 (left hand action) build. It was a great rifle, but it didn't have much aftermarket support--and it wasn't a lefty.
Best I ever got it to shoot consistently was about 3/4 MOA at 100, but hitting an ISPC silhouette at 1K wasn't difficult. I really miss was that chrome lined barrel--It made cleaning so much easier. Attached File |

FN SPR A5 $10 mags. Slow shipping but thought it might help someone out. |
