I'm in the market for a new bolt gun. It will mainly be used for PRC and hunting out to 1000 yards. I have quite a few Aero ARs and have no issue with them at all. Is the Seekins HIT significantly better than the Aero's Solus?
Given Aero's chassis version is nearly the same price as the HIT, what would you do? |

Solus. I love Glen and what his team does is great, but after getting hands on with a Solus at GunCon I’m sold.

The Seekins is the higher quality rifle all around and they have great CS in the rare event you need it.

|
|
[#3]
out of those 2 choices i would take the HIT
|
|
|
[#4]
HIT all day long for PRS.
It isn't a hunting rifle. |
|
|
[#5]
Id go with the Seekins out of those two.
But I'd also look at the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro. I used mine for my first year or so shooting PRS, it's a great rifle and when I shot out the barrel they replaced it for free. Whatever you go with, for the love of god, don't get it in .308. Either 6.5 or 6 Creedmoor. |
|
|
[#6]
Hit is all proprietary except the trigger and has a 90deg throw
Solus fits rem 700 stocks, origin prefits, and 60deg throw. Seekins CS is quick and very good, Aero can certainly be slower and less good but take care of you in the end. |

Complete rifles, I guess seekins cause the factory aero BA barrel is gonna be ok at best. Pva has best deal going on a solus barreled action, you choose cal, contour, and length. Pair that to your choice in stock and trigger and that's a winner.

Hit rifle eliminate the need for go no go gauges. One torx screw and the barrel will spin off by hand.
I have checked zero after taking off barrel on mine and it's spot on. Can actually change calibers at the range. Very happy with my hit rifle in 6 creed shooting 109 bergers. Was in the same boat with choosing between the solus and the hit. I think both are solid choices. |

View Quote Same with any shouldered prefit but some people still like to check them. The torx screw doesn't have anything to do with the need for a go/no go gauge. Both actions will work fine. I'd get the one that had the features you want. |

Seekins is a solid meh for me and I own one. I would rather take the solus action and put together what I want.

Built my first bolt gun using the Solus. Love it. Can't speak to the Seekins but catching a sale on the Aero worked for me.

Aero has a sale on, buy the action get the stock for free. I don’t have any funds currently or I’d be all over that!
That said, if I had the funds, HIT. I love the idea of switching out a a barrel and changing to a “cheaper” caliber for practice. |

Aero currently has a coupon code on complete Solus rifles: SAVESOLUS. It brings the competition/chassis version down to $1389 and the Bravo version to $1065

The chassis model comes with the triggertech primary, any idea if that's also what comes with the bravo model?
The hunter comes with the field trigger. |

The top brands are almost a guaranteed tack driver while I could see some BAs not being able to do much better than .8s or .9s. They are made to a higher standard than the BA AR barrels btw. I’m still pondering a Solus.
I don’t need another rifle but that’s an amazing price. |

Well my solus just shipped a day or two ago, I should know how it does in two weeks when I get it to the range.
