Guess this is a good deal?

I've been waiting to buy a range finder for about 5 years now...

Main use will be on steel 5-400 yards.

This was posted in the Amazon thread.  Supposedly they got bad reviews and are being recalled due to bad processors.

It's a bushnell.  My 1300arc crapped out on me, they sent me a crappy gold range Finder and now I have to mail that back.  Their warranty service blows, 1 year on this product, you pay to ship it both ways.

Thanks for pointing out that info.

I passed on the 2 year add on warranty as it's an third party vendor.

The listing clearly states:
Two-year warranty; 3-Volt battery and premium carry case included

What is the difference between the one we are talking about in this thread and this one that is much more expensive?

http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Tactical-202421-1-Mile-Rangefinder/dp/B00IID3PC6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419158522&sr=8-1&keywords=bushnell+elite+one+mile+range+finder

Of course the one I posted has the newer elite one mile range finder pictured, but the description says 1600 arc which is the older model.  I also found this same elite one mile range finder here...
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bushnell-7x26-Elite-1-Mile-FDE-Horz-ARC-VDT-ESP-VSI-Waterproof-Rangefinder-Box/36447032?sourceid=csesh016b12afff596f4beea1286d543deddbb3&wmlspartner=shoppingcom&affcmpid=2072382577&tmode=0000&bcfg=95aeb2fdebe8b7807503ffdc6854eedb&veh=cse

i got mine friday.. been playing with it for a few days, but haven't been anyplace to stretch it out..

the newer model has the 96x48 Pixel Matrix Display gives bright easy to read displays in all lighting conditions.. the close out model dont.. its the older style

new, E.S.P. technology provides up to 1/2-yard accuracy and 1/10-yard display precision.

old, no

Elite 1-Mile ARC has Rifle Mode – provides bullet-drop/holdover in CM, IN, MOA & MIL.

golf, no

Elite 1-Mile ARC has BullsEye,™ Brush™ and Scan mode

the golf has "pinseeker" ALWAYS ON = to Bullseye, When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display.

Elite 1-Mile has ARC accounts for the terrain angle when calculating distance, so you know precisely how to shoot the range.

the golf will show you the slope degree, that you can use with charts, or a ballistic computer, but DO NOT USE THE ADJUSTED YARDAGE IT SHOWS... ITS 100% WRONG FOR SHOOTING

I went for it and got it today.

I ranged a hillside at 1155 meters in low light.

We will see....

Bright daylight with snow on the ground, I ranged a hillside/tree/patch of snow at 1395 meters.  I am pretty happy with that.

Now we will see how long it lasts.

I agree that it is not set up for shooting, but then I use strelok pro anyways.  I was just looking for something that would range to 1500 meters

well, considering you cant find a 1k LRF for 200, or even a good 600y lrf, i would say they are a no brainer....
