I have a NF Atacr 5-25, with the Tremor 3 reticle, and the illumination is incredibly dim. I have turned the brightness up all the way, put a brand new battery in it, even checked the voltage on it after installing it, because it was still so dim. So dim that I cannot even decipher if the illumination is on or not, while looking through it, indoors during the day with the overhead lights off. Forget about the green illumination, its completely unusable, even at night... Basically the illumination in the reticle never gets above NV compatible level of bright. So, Im wondering, if anyone else has an ATACR with the TREMOR reticle, how does your illumination look? Is it at all usable? ETA: I did RMA this and its on its way to NF now, Im just trying to manage my expectations. Thanks. Photo of said scope/rifle for your time

The only scope with a Tremor3 that I have seen with bright illumination was a US Optics, and the light splashing off reticle features with that bright illumination made it unusable. I believe the comparatively dim illumination spec is done on purpose. It makes it useful for very low light shooting. I've also noticed that the NF 5-25s have dimmer illumination than some others. I'm sure they will verify that yours is working properly. |
