Facing the camera is the 5.11 beaver tail pouch (can't remember what they called it and I don't think they make it anymore), and then on the sides I think those are HSGI pouches that are a little smaller than SAW pouches. The bottom is a Snugpak dry bag with a shelter kit in it. |

Made a few changes and trying out a new bag.  Still a 5.11 Rush 24, just in God’s plaid. I’ve also added 2 canteen pouches on the sides, and then a GI waist pack with the straps woven through the loops on the bottom of the pack.   Added the belt adapters and put a TacTailor mag pouch on each. These set ups are looking good! I have been out of the game for a few years, been building up the family, getting all my kids shooting, and outfitting there kits. We were packing gear last night and talking about the mountains. I will work on getting pics of what I am running now, depending on what we are doing I have pack set ups for a OBR heavy, my BCM mk12 raider build, A 300prc mk13 build, and honestly my favorite rifle right now is a m77 Zastava 308 build. It’s amazing how much I used to carry, now with many more years of knowledge and bumping that kit around the mountains I have learned to streamline. My moto now is be light, fast and deadly, I sound like an afghan haha but being able to move quick and fast does make a difference. Honestly watching the war in Ukraine has really changed my kit also. Light and glare discipline, ways to hide from thermal, and packing a small shotgun for drones has become essentials. Playing with thermal drones in the mounts, basically adult hide and seek with the kids really opens your eyes to how imaginative war is becoming. You have to really think out of the box to defeat this new tech. Everything has changed. |

Thanks, been looking at what I had in my previous (larger) pack and wanted to trim that down a little. Going back to the start of this thread and looking at what @guns762 had in his first post, I wanted to thin my bag down more. Today I got my Rush 10 bag out, and put together something along the lines of his light bag.   Basically just rifle support, medical items and IFAK, minimal snivel/comfort gear, food/cooking, some hygiene, and water treatment.     I have a small shelter that will fit in the bottom Y strap, and I can put a smock over the top with the constriction straps. I also have a dump pouch and mag pouch that go on the anchor point for the cross strap at the bottom of the bag. |

I've got mine set up for heavy and light, and take one or the other every weekend in the summer. I've got a couple other bags set up for hiking, big game hunting, and varmint hunting. Hang them all in a closet and grab appropriate for the purpose. |
