The threads on this Subforum have been eviscerated. Where'd they go? Why were they removed? There was a lot of good rimfire-specific info in them and now they are gone! |

So, everything prior to November, 2025 was archived? That is equivalent to burning the Library at Alexandria. Everything archived is effectively lost. It also reminds me of Photobucket, that "free" photo hosting service that decided all our photos were suddenly theirs and we could only access them if we paid for access. Was this done to other or all forums? |

There were other good threads, too. 90% of my shooting going forward will be .22lr due to ammo costs and the fact that it's just plain fun, lots of information lost. |

The picture thread added some visual interest to our sport. You can see the gear, but many times you can see the range in the background, giving insight into how they can vary from place to place. The "game" thread proved how difficult our sport really is - your first attempt will prove it. I always found the fired targets interesting and the discussion of their shooting interesting and educational. I learned a lot by my actually shooting the "game". |

I've not seen this kind of overnight ravaging of the content before. Yes, I've seen threads slowly drop off into the archive but that is usually a slow process. I'm going to take this as a "heads up", a warning, to always save copies anything that's of value to me. I already do that with news articles, but they have always been ephemeral. I learned that early on and keep a "scrap book of newspaper clippings", except they are digital copies. I guess I need a scrapbook of ARFCOM clippings. |
