Some good discussion on training vs gear and competition vs combat

"The indian or the arrow?" with Paul Howe

One of the more hotly contested aspects of competition vs combat seems to be combat solving one problem at a time vs competition minimizing target transition split times with a "rapid exit".  It was certainly a major point of disagreement between shooters at TAC-CON 2024.  He talks about this a bit.

I never understood the debate or why there even is one.

Anything that improves speed, accuracy and gun handling is a plus in the combat world. Anything that has to do with minimizing time between positions (competition) is pointless.

Easy summary.

In case anyone wonders, devgru, seals, green berets, FBI hostage rescue and various other “tactical guys” all pay competition shooters for training. Might be a reason why.
