With the smoke mags sometimes the non-reinforced lips will flex a bit and you will get a double feed. I had older 20’s once in an “F” that were throwing unspent rounds with the ejected brass. I only figured it out when my mag was empty before it was supposed to be and I had unspent rounds all over my bench.
Try the stock 5 rounder that came with the rife or a black circle 10 30 rounder to see if it does the same. |

I'm going to try a few tomorrow. I also have a 106f that has been flawless, I'm wondering if maybe that ammo was under gassing it. That is possible. I seem to remember a post from about a year ago with a UR that had a problem like that. What ammo are you using? Is it 5.56; 193 or 855? |

Found out today it just hates brass. Every type of brass ammo I tried it choked on, used steel case ammo it shot fine except on one round. Not a mag issue. Whats odd is I brought my 106f along to and it shot everything I put in it. Looks like the extractor? is tearing through the rim of the case and causing the problems. Almost all the cases had a cut in them, even the steel, but the ones that jammed had a clear tear through the case. Does anyone know what to do to remedy that? http://imageshack.com/a/img585/5575/yfe9.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img30/2637/z0gj.jpg Compare the extractor from your 106F to your 106UR and see if there are any noticeable differences. If anything, extractors are cheap and easy to replace. |
| They looked the same, I noticed the ejector seemed to have a sharp edge/ angle to it. I can see how that would cut through the rim. I squared it up with a file so maybe that will help some. I was also told with the longer barrel I'm getting more back pressure causing a more violent action to occur and once I chop the barrel it could help. |
| My Saiga .22s did the same with brass. It had to do with a sharp edge on the bottom of the bolt. That wore away with break in and steel case ammo. I've never had my SLR strip brass that way. My Saiga .223 will still stripe the under lying round when it strips the top one, but doesn't feed two anymore. |
