First off I would like to say this is not a 106fr bashing thread. I love this rifle and its probably more accurate than I am, with that said however I had a couple problems at the range I was shooting a few different kinds of ammo. my reloads, WPA 55 gr fmj, Tula 55 gr fmj, LC 55 gr fmj. The malfunctions occurred using either Tula or WPA wasn't really paying attention I was using a gen 2 black circle 10 mag, which didnt lock in very tight. Two different Times it would fail to feed or eject. I also have a clear circle 10 which locks in very tight and have not had any type of malfunctions with any of the above ammo.

When was your rifle manufactured? Early ones had problems.

It's one of the newer bd prefix rifles and runs like a raped ape with the clear mag and the 5 round mag that came with it. Anyone have any issues with the black circle 10 mags?

Looks like your rifle doesn't like them.

Very odd that it doesn't lock in tight, Circle 10's are normally a snug fit in SLR106s, both black and smoke.
This may sound silly, but are you sure it's a Circle 10 and not a Promag? The Promags have a very similar waffle pattern, but they are crappy, lack the ((10)) mark, and have no steel reinforcement. I ask this because I have had to correct a person selling what they thought was a Circle 10 mag, but was actually a Promag.

Yes Unfortunatly they are both circle 10s I like the black ones for the fact that they have more steel reinforcements than the smoke but dam they have alot of side to side movement vs the smoke ones which have minimal movement

I've noticed when shooting Tula in my AR pistol, every once in a while I will get a double feed. I have "heard", but not confirmed that the Tula 223 is underpowered.

I'm hoping it's the ammo and not mag $30 each isn't cheap and I'm pretty frustrated

Do you have a pair of calipers?  If so, measure the smoke mags and the black mags and see if they're actually different sized.  Perhaps you have a magazine out of spec.  When I had a slr-106, the magazines from the Circle 10 arsenal locked up equally well.
