K, I'm at the last stage of converting my ban WASR. . I did the single to double mag stack conversion, dyed the wood, etc,etc All I needed to do was take off the muzzle nut that was welded over the threaded barrel. . .
Soo started it off, dremeled the weld off, put some loosener goop on the end, and then after the barrel turned about 90 degrees it stopped and hasn't moved since. . . I've also managed to strip the small grip I once had on it and I'm in the process of just slowing dremeling the whole nut away. . Wish I could put up pics but girlfriend has the camera right now. There has got to be a better way, or atleast a tutorial. . . . any tips. . . getting frustrated and not gonna start it up till tom. . thanks in advance and sorry for the horrible description. . . |

Is it stuck on the pin? Look towards the front sigh end of the nut for a small notch and pin. You'll have to hold it back with a screwdriver in order to turn it past the pin. Then you can complete a revolution and push the pin back again. The threads on mine were a mess, rust, cosmoline, burrs. I got the nut most of the way off, and ended up cutting it in half very very carefully with a dremel... |
