Can one manufacturer be recommended more than another. I've looked at Red Star, Tapco, Krebs, etc. just not sure which one to get.

| I'd go with TAPCO, they get criticism for the way their synthetic stuff looks, but their metal works are phenominal and very affordable, I have one in my CAI AK-74, works like a charm! I think I have the another brand, can't remember in my WASR I got when I swapped out the trigger for a tapco g2... can't remember though! The Tapco in my CAI was tough to install at first but once it was in place it was SOLID, not movement, nothing, its great... waaay better than trying to figure out the shepard's crook |
| They all seem to "work" about the same. I like the Krebs because the retaining neck (where the safety selector pins it in place) is set out from the receiver, more or less spring-loaded, to hold the plate against the receiver wall, and makes it easier to remove. |
