can you just bring it up to the shoulder from the position pictured or do you have to kick the butt up over the sling

cool, I don't have a folding stock but that looks like a pretty ingenious sling idea.

I'm still trying to figure out how to use the sling with a fixed stock.  I've tried just having it around my neck.  Fast for getting the gun up but absolutely no support and it has all the weight on your neck so it's not very comfortable, not to mention to constant nut banging that occurs from it basically being a 1point.  If I run it like they did under an arm it's not as fast, but offers support...however it gets in the way when it comes time to reload....grrrr.  The one advantage is that when you transition you can easily put the gun to your side to clear your centerline for access to pistol mags or whatever.

The Russians have been mounting their slings this way for the past couple years, I've noticed the Venezuelans are doing it too.
