Is there a where to find thread for complete AK's?

If I was looking to buy a quality AK from a retailer, where should I look?

Thanks,

Marshall

First post my friend,

What exactly are you looking for? AKs are in fact like ARs. The sky is the limit. However, now is a hard time to buy. The AK forum is great and very friendly as I have found the AR forum to be but you must be a little more specific. I like Arsenal AKs unfortunately like all things of quality they are not cheap.

I should have been more specific. I was mainly looking for a "where to find" forum for complete rifles, but I don't think there is one. That would allow me to browse without knowing exactly what I want.

I am not exactly in a position to purchase anything right now, so I was looking for some retailer websites with AK's from the $800-1200 range. This would allow me to do a little research before deciding what I exactly want.

Thanks!

Atlantic Firearms is good people with a lot of variety, from high end to low end AKMs, from sporterized unconverted rifles to full custom conversion by some top tier shops.

Now is a bad time, but their prices are not GB through the roof, but still up there with all the panic.

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/ak-47-74-rifles.html

As for selecting, start with the desired caliber: 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 7.62x51, 556x45, 7.62x54r. Google or search the caliber you're interested in, everyone's got an opinion, but whether it's plinking or hunting or the apocalypse , select the one that suits your needs.

Then start looking at the selection, considering manufacturers and configurations. I would suggest avoiding IO Inc unless it is an import that they haven't butchered, same goes for Century. Opinions vary on Century, 50/50, google it and enjoy reading up on all that. You will either get a great cost effective shooter or a POS lemon that will try your patience. Arsenal does a great Saiga conversion and VEPRs are some of the best AKMs you can currently get your hands on in the commercial market. Unfortunately, looks like Atlantic is out of VEPRs for the most part.

Classic Arms is another store you can check out.

Henderson Defense, but they have nada in stock right now.

Impact Guns, never bought form them, but looks like they have a lot of stock. I would call to see if that stock is correct or if they are just backordering.

Quite a few other companies, but you get the point, plenty out there. Hope that answers your question. Good luck and let us know what you eventually decide on.

I am confused... Did you mean to hyperlink me to the reloading forum?

...but yes, I was already half way to the dark side with my Norinco SKS and pile of steel cased ammo, so I figured I should go all the way with an AK purchase.

I have had my eye on Atlantic for a long time now, until the panic hit and everything went out of stock.

Thanks for the other websites!
