How does an Ak47's accuracy compare to an SKS's at 100 yards? Also, what are typical groups for 100 yards with good quality hunting ammo, not cheap wolf FMJ?

I have had good results with Silver Bear "match" ammo.

These are for 10 shot groups

6-8" groups with my AK-47 (16" barrel, open sights)

4-6" groups with my SKS (20" barrel, open sights)

Of course you will get better results with 3 or 5 shot groups.
And using a scope can also improve those numbers.

Best groups I ever got with any of my AKs was with a Norinco Mak90 2in 3 shot groups. 100yds mil ammo

It depends.  My Norinco SKS with a milled receiver used to be fairly accurate at 100 yards (three to five inches), whereas I struggle to put all rounds on a dinner sized paper plate with my stamped AK at 100 yards.  Shoot, even at 25 yards, my MAK-90 produces dismal two inch groups whereas I can pop one hole groups with my AR-15 at the same distance.

On the other hand, my uncle's Bulgarian SLR-95 (a milled AK with a scope) can group a couple of inches at 100 yards.  I did not believe the hype when it was touted as one of the most accurate AK variant rifles...  After sighting in his scope with the traditional three shot group cool and repeat method, I became a believer in the hype.  Very impressive and I came real close to ditching my SKS for a Bulgarian at the time.

If you can find an SLR at a decent price, go for it.  My uncle paid $300 for his SLR in 1996, and was offered $600 for it recently by a pawn shop owner.  I deeply regret not picking up one or two Bulgarian SLR-95s when I had the chance.
