Not (yet) an AK owner, what kind of accuracy is the platform able to do?  Obviously this will varry if they are custom guns or questionable quality imports.

Educate me please.

You should have no problems consistantly hitting a man sized target at 100 yards.  AKs were not meant to be match rifles so you really shouldn't expect a tack driver even with the nicest custom made rifle.  Although, you're probably more likely to get a more accurate AK from a milled receiver (or a VEPR) than a regular stamped rifle.

I cannot believe you can't find the answer to this question simply by perusing this forum.......

4-6" is what most AKs average at 100 yards.

Mike

ps - Hungarian SA 85Ms tend to do a little better and mine will consistently do 2-3" groups at 100 yards if I do my part.....

Sadly this forum used to have some of the best info tacked to the top of this forum, until the folks involved took all their info and adios'd......

With Wolf ammo, I get 1 MOH (minute of human).

I find you can't really measure an AK in MOA expectations. But at 100 yards, I usually get about 30 rounds in a 6 inch circle. There seems to always be flyers that take it to that large of a group, but that can be attributed to ammo as well as anything else.

Although I never have measured the groups I can get MOP (Minute of Popcan at 100 yrds).  I figure it 2-3" @ 100. With my KTR-03V (7.62x39mm)

Just for reference the US military requires that an AR shot at least 4" at 100 meters or it is rejected.

The 5.45 is more accurate than the 7.62x39 and if you compare combat rifles (AR with a chromed lined barrel) the 5.56 is about 20% more accurate then the 5.45.

Yeah well if you cant hit a man sized target at 100 yards you need to shoot yourself. Hell, I can hit a man sized target with a pistol from 100 yards

I got a jackrabbit with the old Norinco at 100 yards this weekend, that is good enough for me.

Never tested for group size, but I can consistantly hit 2" high visibility targets with iron sights at 100 yrds. with my VEPR K 7.62x39 using wolf 154gr. s.p. and 122 gr. f.m.j.

The consensus around here is that AK's generally are capable of 3" groups at 100 yards, 4" for Romanian AK's.

I have found on the typical AK ( 7.62x39 ) to be 4"-6" . While the 74 ( 5.45x39 ) to be 2.5" - 4 "  . I have shot many AK's and owned many . Thtas just my take on the adverage  rifle. Then you can have the ones that can hold 2" groups all day long.  . The ones that shoot .5 MOA  are  normally found on the internet  cyber range .  . IMO ,  WarDawg

8 inch plate at 235 yards, 26 out of 30 hits in 30 seconds.  Maadi RPM using a Russian Suit Sight.
Other than that if I hit a man sized at 100 yards, I'm good to go  It was never intended to be all that accurate.....
