Have any of you guys purchaced anything from this guy? I bought a couple of things from him and kvar on the same day one right after the other, and already got the kvar stuff yesterday, and havnt seen the stuff from ak builder yet. I have e-mailed him a couple of times asking for my ups tracking number and I havn't heard anything back yet (I've been trying to get the tracking number for a few days now) I am just wondering if I made a mistake buying from this guy. I already paid him through paypal and got a conformation e-mail from both him and paypal. Please let me know if you guys had any luck with this guy. Thanks |
| I've ordered from Curtis. Yes it does take awhile to get your stuff (building tools) but you will get them. I think he only does this as a side job. Quality stuff tho. I waited over a month for my TG jig and barrel press. Waited about 1 week for Plinker's rivet jig (ordered at the right time). Try giving him a call. I'm sure he will give you an update. |

I think the bending jigs and riveting jigs all have a fairly short backorder waiting list, like around a month. Curtis is pretty haphazard about responding to emails. If you really need to get a hold of him, try the phone. If it isn't urgent, just wait patiently for a bit. He'll get your order to you in a few weeks and you'll be happy with the tools. He is a one man show, but he has a track record of reliably making progress on delivering backorders. I rate him as one of the better small suppliers of hard to get tools. Usually he ships parts that are in stock pretty fast, unless they are with an order that also includes backordered tools. If you want tools and parts and want the parts immediately, make them separate orders. s & p |
I got ahold of Curtis today and found out that he is all out of flats and he was holding on to my order until the flats came in (2 months ) and he said that he would just send the rest of my stuff and send me the flats when he gets them in. He seemed like a really nice guy, and great to deal with once I got him on the phone. I just wished he would have let me know sooner that the stuff was on back order. But, I can't complain too much, it should all work out in the end
