| What is the most accurate you have shot with an Ak-47? Also what was the distance? I was looking and wondering what the most accurate you have shot with your AK. |

We sometimes get guys coming over from the AR side to occasionally stir things up, don't worry about it. About the best I've done with a Combloc caliber is with my SLR-105A1 from Arsenal. Using Barnaul ammo, benched, iron sights, we're talking about 2 1/2" at 100. That's taking my time and a good solid bench on a clean calm day with the "best" ammo I could find. I'm sure a 5.56mm rifle would beat that using good ammo. |
Was that scoped or with irons? I just picked up a VEPR K in 5.45 and I think I'm going to put a POSP scope on it. I think with a scope it should do a little better 2.5 MOA. Also, the scope will add some weight to tame that recoil. |
Didn't you end up buying a WASR? It's a little too late to start worrying about accuracy now.

I love this quote from Louis Awerbuck on page 54 of his book Tactical Reality (He is one of the most respected firearms instructors in the US) The quote is from an article titled "Its not the Equipment" that speaks to our felt need to have sub MOA fighting rifles. " Much has been written about the so-called inaccuracy of rifles, such as those in the Kalashnikov family, because they "only shoot into three or four inches at 100 yards." So when's the last time you or your tutor shot into three or four inches when the target was returing fire? Work out how little your enemy has to move for you to miss by a foot; throw in some poor-light conditions, some fear and all the other ingredients of a fight;and then see if tiny incremental minutes of angle of the rifle's inherent accuracy mean anthing. If you're lying in wait and have the rare luxury of dictating the time and circumstances of the delivery of the shot, then - and only then - is the time for .... pinpoint equipment. Any other time an AK will out perform the operator." Go Louie !!!BWAHAHAHA |
+9,845,688,274 Thats the truest statement I have ever heard on this board. "Obviously because its from someone not on this board" When it all comes down to it, The most important thing in a fire fight at first it putting aimed rounds down range in the general direction of your enemy to keep thier heads down untill you and yor team get into a good position then its still about getting well aimed shots toward them, Your not a sniper, taking time to make wind calls and sight sdjustment and getting your breathing just right. Cause your hearts going about a million miles an hour and your trying to duck out of thier rounds coming at you! If you wanna be a sniper and shoot -1 moa. buy a sniper rifle. Even if you can hit 1moa off a bench with your AK, the gun is more accurate then you are from any position accept prone with a loop sling. Yes EVEN your ak.!

I agree. When SHTF and you are getting shot at, you want a weapon that wont jam at the end of the day! |
