Not even with cutting out the tang? I'm looking for the reduced lop and would like the more simplified mechanism of the compact block.

What tang?  The only Yugo I have seen with tangs is a M64 fixed stock rifle and I doubt that is what you have.

The piece extending out of the rear of the receiver is known as the tang, you don't have one:

The Ace Yugo adapter is designed specifically to deal with tang-less rifles such as yours.  Why make it any harder than you have to, in the end you'll have the same mounting surface regardless of which Ace adapter you use, the difference is that the Yugo adapter is a direct bolt-on and 1000x easier to install.

You're right.  I was wanting less parts,  but my idea seems to be just as many with more effort.
