I'm looking a buying and Ace Modular stock for my AK.  I'll be mounting the internal receiver block.  What is the best way to determine what length stock you need, since they give you a few options?  Any input is appreciated.

You need to decide what LOP is best for you. Then call ACE and they will help you. The medium length stock will probably be the one you want.

I'm not up to snuff on my Acronyms.  What does LOP stand for?

There's three numbers to add up (two if you don't use the rubber buttpad) to get the final length of the Ace folder.

  • Length of the folding mechanism (~1 inch)

  • Length of the stock itself (you pick 7.5", 8.5", 9.5")

  • Length of the buttpad (choose 1 inch or 0.5 inch)

I went with 8.5" stock and the 0.5" buttpad (the 1 inch looks funky in my opinion), and I wound up with a length that feels just like the Nato stocks (to me at least). If you want to retain the same length as the original AK stocks, go with the 7.5" stock and 0.5" buttpad.
