| Anyone order a kit from Bob at Akron lately? I ordered the best of the best kit about a month ago and havent received it yet. Bob says he has to sort out his kits. It is going on a month now. Starting to wonder if he really has the kits in stock or not. Is anyone else waiting for a kit? |
|
Bob doesn't have anything in stock. He has no warehouse or product in his possession from what I understand... Bob is a broker. He takes orders, and his business partners ship the product. Whoever his business partner is at the time..he has run through several. Currently his Tantal kits come from Global Trades in Houston TX I got an "as new" Tantal kit from Akron Armory/Global trades and it was very nice. |
|
From another forum... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My credit card was billed as Global Trades. ??? NOT... Akron Armory. After further research on the forum I realised A.A. doesnt actualy "exist" for all practiclal purposes, and doesnt actually stock anything, they just "broker" the transaction apparently.? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And... Bob needs as much business as he can get right now. Bob is on a path to a court date in December and Akron Armory still owes $38,000.00 in invoices to Ohio Rapid Fire. |
Damn, 38 large. That's not good. I ordered two kits from him about a year ago. He got them to me fast and they were in the condition he advertised. I hope you get your stuff dude. |

I had no problems with Polish AKM kits...shipped in new condition....very pleased with them. I decided on Tantal kit...ordered it ...and it came in last Thursday (July 30/06). So on Friday I ordered another one from Bob, and asked him about this Global Trades billing. Bob explained that the kits are his; that Global Trades warehouses and ships them for him. The Tantal kit ("AS- NEW") is just that, new, you will not find a better one anywhere. True, kit comes without bipod and bayonet. What you see on his web-site photo, is what you get. This is a pristine condition matching numbers kit. I'm very pleased with Bob's service. Besides, it does not matter where he gets his kits, what matters is that he delivers. So he warehouses and has them shipped/billed thru a company in Texas while he is in Ohio. that makes perfect sense, Not. Richard257 you weren't around here when he screwed a lot of people over. you ever think of why he doesn't advertise on this site ? or why he got booted from here ? mmk |
I learned a lot about AKs on this site. The members are knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt with their replies. I have seen photos of their AKs built from perfect kits. Unfortunately, I realized a little too late that AK can be built from a kit by AK gunsmith. Thanks to ATF near perfect kits have dried up. I am impressed with Bob's service and the kits he obtained for me. I am thankful to those who boycotted Bob, and left some perfect matching numbers kits for last minute shoppers like myself. Who else is selling "as new" Polish AKMs and Tantals? Poor Bob ... got the boot ... ![]() |
When did you buy these? Check this recent thread www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=89467 Appears that he does not have any more of unissued kits. EDIT.... page could not be displayed for some reason....but anyway...you may read about DansAmmo on page 2 |
| I ordered a kit from Akron Armory and had no problems receiving it. I think most of you needed to keep calling him on those orders you never received. He is also selling FAL kits at an incredible pace plus I think he's almost a one man outfit trying to go through all those kits. JUST GIVE HIM A CALL IF YOU DIDN'T RECEIVE YOUR ORDER! |
| Like I said before you should have called him to fix the problem instead of bitching about it. He has excellent kits and I think most people don't know he's a one man operation. Think about trying to match 1000's of kit's and see if you get behind. Cut the man a break. |
My friend and I called him ALL hours of the day and the phone just rang busy or was never answered. We called for 2 weeks straight. I even posted to him on the FAL Files and he responded to call him at a certain time and still nothing ![]() I tried to give him the business because I ordered from him once in the past without any hassles. We finally gave up calling and ordered from Dan's Ammo. thanks, Ron |
| I've ordered from him and for the life of me can't recall what the item was, but he called me and confirmed he recieved the funds - that was several years ago though. About a year ago I ordered a ak kit from him and about three weeks I emailed him and he only said soon, about three weeks latter another email sent because the kits still had not arrived and his reply was it will be soon. About a week after the kit arrived. I'd order from him again if he has the best price for the quality. |
Smoked bridge again? With book sauce? After AA-Bob was proudly proclaiming the selection and cleaning process he gave each kit, and guys had to chase him down by phone to place orders instead of going thru the AStore main desk, the FAL kits were not AA-Bob's? Or is this just another example of taking credit but never blame? I really wish this was turning out better for the gun fans out there. |
That's pretty much it. with him it's the same old song and dance. selling product that's not his and that he won't stand behind. why anybody still does business with him is beyond me. mmk |

He is close enough with Jen that she has his web site for him, but he can't recall if the Files got their promised $5 per sale? whois.domaintools.com/akronarmory.com Registrant: Armory Holdings P.O. I have not, to date, received any of the promised $5 per sale from the AmmunitionStore kit sales done thru the FAL Files and to my knowledge Bob is working to resolve this as I have received no response to any communications sent to Ammunition Store regarding this matter. As for the domains, I am either holding or have registered numerous domains for various people, Bob Williams included. This does not mean nor imply any relationship beyond this and I do not apreciate being dragged into a separate situation that I have absolutely NO involvement in. |

Jen's credibility has never been questioned, I am a fan of her board, including her stand on the Gucciano mess years ago, and a willingness to carry on after a group buy when most anyone else would have folded. The post shows merely that Jen has been kind to Bob beyond allowing him a vendor forum on her board, so one would hope that Bob kept track of promises made thru sales he arranged. It is part of an unfortunate and worrisome trend on Bob's part. Bob can claim all he wants that KF and ORF are grinding an axe. But they were not the importers of the 7N1 and 7N6 ammo that Bob was first to promise but never delivered, and they had nothing to do with the kit money which the Files should have by now. |
A big +1 to the above. one hell of a nice stand up lady. bob on the other hand..... my info is that the Ammunition Store knew nothing of this arrangement that Bob made with the board members.
What's amazing is while he was claiming it was tied up at the importers, 3-4 other vendors were selling it. mmk |
+1 on Dan's Ammo. This was my exp with them as well. Great kit, great price and fast shipping. Bob at Akron on the other hand never shipped the kits I ordered from him a year ago. If you like to gamble order from him. You may actually get your stuff or you may never hear from the guy again. Personally I have better things to do with my time and would rather support the vendors who know how to run a professional business. |
| My kit from Bob came in. It took approximately 1 month from date of purchase. I was very happy to find that the Kit is in new condition unfired, all matching, with bayonet, 2 brand new mags, sling and accs. just as described, The wait time was longer than I expected but it was worth it. I can't say anything bad, the Kit is brand new and matching, the wood is perfect, not sure if you can find them anywhere else in this condition. I got what I payed for. |
|
I bought two Ruski Maks from Bobarino...Akron Armory. I made out my check to Akron...received them from Akron. And Bob told me a few things, which I will not disclose...but I will say this, if he is headed to a court date, it's a TRIPLE edged sword. Not double. THere is another party who has incurred some liability. .02 |
