My ORF PMKMS build was completed recently and arrived at my FFL, but when I went to get it the backround check deal came up as "delayed" and has remained that way for quite some time. It's the new automated online deal. The owner says this happens some times and that it can take up to 2-3 days. What's the deal? |
The only time I've ever been delayed is because the computer was down. That would be the Colo. Bureau of Investigation computer. Here the dealer calls CBI, who calls NICS and checks state records while waiting on NICS. But I always added my SSN as I once did a Yahoo search on my name. I came back with something like 68 different people with the same name and another several dozen with a derivative of my first name. I then did my brother-in-law and got only one hit. He's very unique I guess. But the last couple of guns I felt daring and didn't include my SSN and was approved just as fast. In some cases adding your SSN may be worthwhile. |

My name is Andrew Johnson, so... I did include the serial though so I don't know what the deal is. The ORF Polish build is so sweet though! As much as I love the satin super-black Russian finish, the parkerizing really looks good on an AK. I went with the "Blark" finish, more or less just to make sure I didn't end up with a really light looking finish. The weld job on the slant comp and bayo lug just makes ya grin as well. |
