I never bought anything from him personally. but look at his website, you can tell hes a pro. I would bet you would be very happy with one of his builds vs the junk floating around out there.
he takes serious pride in his workmanship and his contributions/comments here show he is a very dedicated gunsmith and enthusiast. read the "is a srew build good enough" thread. |

What they said.
Marc is a true professional and demands the highest quality of himself and what he does. He's to the point and won't waste your time, nor does he want his time wasted. I have a couple of items refinished by him and his work is first rate. He's also the only smith that I know of that is recommended by HK for factory refinishes. You can't go wrong. |

anybody familiar with his work / rifles. I'm looking at 545x39 is the quality better than arsenal or? thanks Coincidental timing...I just ordered a plum 74 from ARS this afternoon. I already have the Arsenal SGL-31 (highly recommended), but wanted to add an equally high-quality Bulgarian 74 to my collection. And since I missed the SLR-105 boat, I figured the next best thing was an Arizona Response Systems Bulgy 74. Mark list the stats for his 74's as follows: - NoDak Spud NDS-2 Premium US-made, fully heat-treated receiver - New 5.45x39mm Bulgarian parts with original military chrome-lined barrel - Full-auto and semi-auto selector detents (fires semi-auto in both positions) - Honed US-made Arsenal USA trigger group for excellent trigger pull - Side-mount scope rail - K-Var US-made plum Bulgarian-style furniture - Finished with METACOL III Satin Black over Parkerizing. - Each rifle passes all original arsenal testing and gauging, using original factory gauges - I personally testfire each rifle for function and zero - Standard ARS warranty - 1 x 30 rd Polish black synthetic magazine At $745, the cost of this ARS rifle is right up there with an Arsenal SGL-31. But from what I've heard, if you want a particularly nice 74 kit build..this is it. ARS was selling these for $1,000 just 8 months ago, so I figured that $745 was a decent price. I have a feeling that all these nice Bulgy kit guns with the original barrels will dry up in a year or so (sorta like the Polish kits did). With each passing year, imported kits are becoming more and more scarce. Plus, I've recently decided that I will no longer buy cheap guns. As for the Arsenals, they are great. Very nice rifles, and worth every penny I think. If you're trying to decide whether to get the SGL31 or an ARS gun, I can't help you there just yet. For starters, I haven't actually seen the ARS gun in-person yet. (Although, I will post several pictures with a mini review next week.) It also depends on whether you want Russian or Bulgarian, and a factory gun or a kit gun. I'll have a better basis for comparison next week. Obviously, my best advice would be to "get both". That's what I'm doing! |
