Had a Colt match target (the sanitized Clinton-era model) in x39 in the mid-90's, wish I had never sold it, awesome rifle, same little gunshop I bought it at had 4 of the old USA 40 round frankenmags brand new too so I bought 'em all, basically a 10 round AR mag welded to a 30 round AK mag, but they worked like a charm. Been contemplating buying/building another one for the last year, probably would have already done so, but along came the panic........ Who knows, maybe Arsenal will actually come up with something cool, but since the teaser ad already said it's part of the SAM family, my thoughts of what might be cool are dashed. |

How about an AK over-and-under in x39 and 12 gauge? You could run the x39 through mags in the conventional way, and have a pair of tubes slung under the barrel for the 12 gauge like the kel-tec ksg-15?
Add a bottle opener on that bad boy and you got yerself a weekend.

| Screw it, with a little help from friends I think building is the way to go if you really want something different...i'm thinking a russian pattern milled receiver from CNCWarrior, a super-match Pac-Nor barrel, fluted, a true sub-1MOA barrel..... integral sight/gas block like the Vepr type 2 and 104's, maybe a custom rear sight block milled from scratch, with no regular sight, but a small integral picatinny rail instead so you can use a wide variety of BUIS, nice cerakote finish.....and some new way of mounting an optic if desired.....possibly an integral light mount in the front of the handguard, maybe even build the light circuitry into the handguard with a built-in switch, wouldn't be too hard, and modern LED's are tiny...... |

Wow......Seriously I was waiting to see this. Super let down with the supposed two years of research and building for what? I hate this did they include the year and nine months they spent talking about the rifle around a urinal in that time. At one point I allowed myself to get excited that it might be a true game changer or something at least cool. Thanks Arsenal for making me feel just like I did when I was 9yrs old and let down at Christmas great memory to relive

| If it was at least in an internal folder in a different caliber I don't think I would be bothered so much but the external folder is so hideous and cheap looking it is an offense to the milled receiver to be paired with such a atrocity. Seriously two years of work blah blah blah. At least the price wasn't completely outrageous, I was just really expecting more so I guess it is really my own fault. i am sure we will hear more when the masses are awake tomorrow. |

Would have been a lot cheaper just to contact Bonesteel and get it done in less than half the time.

Sporter or 80% finished? From what I have found out, the link below they brought the old SAM series in at 80%. Just curious because the answer could mean other things are enroute from Arsenal. The reason the old ones were so expensive and in limited quantity is that KVAR had to finish/convert them and it was a question of capacity and return, so either KVAR has gone full tilt and practically set up their own arms plant, which would be awesome as that would mean we would get allot more, or something else I am missing. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156749 |
