Does it have standard AKM furniture where in the future I can swap out the handguard, grip, etc... if I choose too??

It takes standard MILLED handguards. The pistol grip needs to be compatible with the thumb safety. Some grips are easy to modify, some not so much. Other than the factory SAW grip the is the ARM9 grip the is already cut.
