Doesn't look like a factory grip.  Nice gun though.  I had an SLR-101S, pretty much the same gun.  Came in the country single stack, and converted by Arsenal to high cap.

not the the factory grip but i kind of like it .I am thinking about adding a MI rail also. I have a pair of converted MAK 90's so i have the traditional looking AK's covered. I got a good deal on this one and i wanted a milled reciever so i jumped on it.

Very nice rifle, definitely a keeper.  That's an ergo grip pistol grip.  I'd probably put a factory grip on it just because I like them better.

Nice.

I have the underfolder version SAS M7 classic.

I had wanted the fixed stock as well, broke now though.

Cant you just unpin the break if you want to change it?

Keep it.

What are these milled AK's worth these days?

I have the exact same rifle and it is very accurate well made weapon. I have original grip though I think it looks better with it. I don't know what they are worth all I know is I have had people shoot mine and offer me  alot of cash to get me to part with it. Mine is a SAM-7R

Maybe $1,100.  But finding buyers for ban era guns can be tough.

Wouldnt they be perfect for New Yorkers and the likes?

Yeah, but for the same money they could get a pre-ban chicom with all the banned features.  Most guys would go for that before they'd get a neutered milled AK.

I sold a ban era SAM7 classic and had a very hard time finding a buyer.

It's not a "preban" or "Collectible" but it's certainly a great practical AK for shooting.

Easily worth North of $700

well if you talk to some of the smiths they can replace the gas block with a bayonet lug still intact and then have them put on a proper removable break and she is then a non ban model. Then if I ever get around to this I will have mine finished in somthing better than the flaky enamel arsenal used to paint these weapons.

The SAM7's have a great powder coated finish on them.  Not even remotely close to the crap finish on their stamped guns.

I didn't know it was a powder coating so I geuss i learned somthing new. I assumed it was an enamel beens it  came off the muzzle so easy on mine.well I bought mine back in the ban days, maybe now they have a better finish but there use to be many people from the ban days that wished it was better. It really seems to come off the muzzlebreak really easy maybe it has gotten bumped one to many times maybe it was just mine then I remember way back 2005 and 2006 threads on the finish of arsenals  milled- slr-95, sam-7, sam-7r were always a problem. It is good enough but the complaint was when you pay 800 bucks for an ak in 2005 that the finish should be more durable. My wasr was bought before my sam and it still has the crap finish on her even though it wasn't much in the first place it has held up better than the sam-7r has. I like the look of the black finish on it Just don't trust it much is all.

My SAM7 was from 2004 and it had a great finish.  There isn't much that will mess up powdercoating.

The SLR series guns are the ones I've always heard had a crap finish.
