I purchased an Arsenal SGL-20 a few months ago and finally got around to testing it out... Ugh. I'm thinking the problem is a quick fix but I'd like an expert opinion. Approximately 5% of the time the hammer doesn't lock back leaving me with a round in the chamber and no way to fire without racking the bolt. I've reproduced this using three different mags. I'm not sure if the hook is failing to catch the trigger or if the trigger is occasionally hitting the back of the carrier too early. Has anyone seen anything like this before? What are the possible causes?

Thanks!

check the disconnector spring to make sure it's in there good.

HAH I didn't even know there was a spring down there... that said, inspecting it is almost impossible. I can only see that there is a spring there. Is there any way to test it without removing the entire trigger assembly? I doubt I could get it back in!

OK... experts must be out shooting... I'll settle for an educated guess.

Since you're still in the warranty period I would recommend you get that rifle back to Arsenal quick, or they'll refuse to work on it. They wont even entertain the tought of helping you if you go beyond 1 year, and it dels sound like something that need factory correction.
