I have an Arsenal Inc. SLR 101 SB (milled receiver, double stack magazine). I have two questions: 1) Does anyone make a side-folding stock for two tang milled receiver? If so where can I find one. 2) The muzzle break is pinned on. I have drifted the pins out, and tried removing the muzzle break (left hand threads), but it will not budge. Any ideas how this thing is attached / comes off? |

Well, if anyone who has read this has the same question about the muzzle break, I found this, which looks like it might answer that question. I am going to give this a try, maybe next weekend, and I will post the results in case anyone is curious. I hope linking to another forum isn't in bad taste. hock.gif www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=110911 |

The muzzle is pinned, that means its attached to the front sight. And for the side folder, no way you can install one without a lot of work on the receiver. Sorry. I have the same rifle and love it. The muzzle works great actually, and the stock is no problem. A folding stock would be nice but its not necesary since no good folding stocks in the market right now fold with a scope mounted in the left of the receiver. (the SAM7 special forces they made folded to the side but that side folder is not available that i know of) If you have any questions you can message me :) I'll help you out.

The muzzlebrake is not part of the front sight base. The enamel finish is applied after assembly, so it may appear to be one unit, but it's not. There are 2 pins and a VERY tight press fit holding it on, no threads. I removed mine by taking a grinding wheel and weakening the material just in front of the FSB, being VERY careful not to go completely thru. Then took a screwdriver and slid it thru a port on the MB, and wrapped on it a few times with a big hammer. Some people, i've heard, have used slam hammers to get them off, but I didn't happen to have one laying around. |
Oh, thanks for the correction :D |

Ace makes an adaptor, folding unit, and variety of stocks for milled receiver AKs. I am thinking of ordering some parts from them. They suggest removing the lower tang, and I am torn between doing this and modifying the adaptor. I haven't had a chance to try removing the MB yet, but hope to soon. www.aceltdusa.com/ See the Receiver Adaptors section. |
