here ya go i didnt build the slr95 but i did add the lower tang gas block and thread the barrel and i did partial build on the 74u other i built myself tho     polish uf   polish with ironwood  russian clone with plum stock  russian uf with plum   yugo on dci rec   |

My latest build, an AK-M4. Armory1.6 receiver. Romy parts. TDi Furniture. Tapco M4 stock. Romy AIM Flash Hider. Cheapo BSA Red Dot (for now) and lots of cleaning and green paint. Spaceman Spiff, The lower handguard is laminated wood from a Polish AKM. I wanted all laminated wood on the rifle including the pistol grip. I just wiped the finish with a solvent and then shot it with gloss polyurethane and it matched the buttstock. It came from Global at $18.00. Jaymor

Hey fellas, most of you guys have seen these already but I thought I would post them to help keep this thread going since Mike has done such a great job setting this up.. My very first build, a GT 1.6mm reciever, DSA FAL grips, K-Var optic rail that I mounted directly to the reciever using buttonhead screws, Aimpoint 5000 dot sight, ( I'm a dot junkie) refinished in Gun Kote. She has eaten 400 rounds without a hickup..   These are the groups that she shot after Zero..  100 Meter group..  My second build, a #'s matching AK74S from Akron Armory, on a OOW reciever, Refinished in Gun Kote. She has a black PG now.   This is the group that I shot without a zero, I ran out of time at the range...   This is a Romanian "G" kit, Yugo underfolder, and some Ironwood furniture, Russian PG. Refinished in Gun Kote, I built this for a friend at work. We took this to the range one day and shot Iron Maidens for 500 rounds without a hitch, he loved it...    This is a AMD 65 on a OOW reciever, and a few other goodies, I built the folder, and got the FH off the EE.   This is another build for a friend at work, AMD 65 on a OOW reciever, DSA FAL PG's, PK-AS red dot, Refinished in Gun Kote. I also got him 6 Bulgy 7.62mm plastic mags when they were dirt cheap, he loves it, we have pushed about 250rnds through this with no problems.   This is my last build, super quality M 92 kit, on a 1.mm GT reciever,refinished furniture, and a fake can by sportsnut when he was still building them. A super gun, although I try to keep the round count down on this one..   Thats it for now fellas, hope that you enjoyed them. Mike, keep up the great work on the BIY forum, thanks a bunch. Mark. |

Dude! I hate you! Umm, I take it you must be good at this AK building business. You should go apply at Special weapons. I'll bet toady could stand to see someone build a firearm right

damn i hate you guys! i wish i had the time and money to do all the builds you guys have done some very nice looking homemade rifles here. well here is the bulgy side folder kit i built shown next to my wasr-10.("G" kit wood) i know it is not as pretty as others on here but it was my first build

Pistol is an AMD65 kit from Clearview. Screw build. Screw kit, templates, and instructions came from marshhawk.com. Ewbanks receiver from Horns Custom Rifles. Muzzle attachment is a cut down original AMD device. Seemed to work OK. The rail on the bottom of the front handguard was a piece of stock I had lying around which I screwed on. The 1" scope mount attached serves as a place to mount a light or my left hand. Refinished about 80% of the gun with AlumhaHyde II then rubbed it down a bit with oiled 0000 wool to get a better match. Top cover and red dot are el-cheapos from CDNN. Mount still wiggles a tad but with ball park windage and elevation adjustments, I could hit a 10" plate easily at 50 yds. I preadjusted the red dot to coincide with the iron gights. Magazine is a Promag which ran just fine--surprise surprise--3 US parts for my rifle build. Range trip was short due to crummy weather, but got off about 200 rounds without a problem. Couldn't get it to bump. My first build. No surprises, some easy custom fitting, and I learned a lot about drilling and tapping. Ruined one hole but snot welded it and redrilled. Came out fine. Thanks for all the great info. There wasn't a problem that someone didn't have the solution for.  |
