Hey guys.  I'm new to the AK platform, and I have a few questions for you:  

(1) From a ballistics standpoint, is there much difference between a 7.62 round fired from an average AK-47 as opposed to the same round fired from an average SKS?  I'm assuming not.

(2) What is the effective range of an AK/SKS when firing a 7.62 round with standard iron sights?

1) Not very much.

2) My AKs are 4MOA rifles, which means they will keep rounds on a man sized target at 300 yards, which is further than I can see a man sized target w/o optics.
