Some of you may have seen our thread on the NV hometown board about our group AK build.... www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=22&t=173669&w=myTopicPop We are having a great time doing this eventhough none of us had ever built an AK before we started. The "prototype" gun is almost done and it is turning out great. The only obsticle left is figuring out how best to do the trigger guard rivets but we have some ideas that should work. I wanted to post a short video we did yesterday of pressing in the barrel. If any of you are worried about this part of the build, don't be! They press in like a hot knife through butter. This video is the first time we have even SEEN it done let alone doing one and it took all of 3 minutes from start to finish with the pin in place. Here is the jig that Perro whipped up.... And a lot of help from CAMPYBOB. Thanks again for all the info you provide to us Campy. BTW, a couple of these builds might make it to bulletfest this year as full autos (we have a couple of SOT's in our group). Here's to melting the handguards off!!!! |
