| I have decided that due to financial restraints to go from building an AR15 to getting a Yugo and the T-6 before the Democrats start telling me what I can and can't own. The only thing I don't like about the SKS is the barrel length. I am fond of the 16" barrel of the AR15. Can I have the barrel chopped by a gunsmith without FUBARING the cycling rate? I would like to have it shortened as much as feasable and put an aftermarket brake on. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

The issue of short or sluggish stroking may be due to the distance from the muzzle to the gas port being too short. The same issue is had on the AR, especially the SBR'd ones. A general rule of thumb is 3" from gas port to the muzzle with no flash hider/compensator. buckmeister |
