I had the bayonet out last night and I noticed that it's VERY dull. It's the romanian bayonet that's included with the WASR. Is it supposed to have a sharp edge? This one isn't just dull, it almost looks like it has a FLAT edge... like "U" instead of "V".
I doubt it's something my stone will make sharp as there's really no edge there. So... is this normal? |

Yes. You can sharpen the bayonet to some extent, and it will stay sharp ... as long as you don't use it to cut anything. The bayonet is most useful for converting the rifle into an improvised grave marker. |

99 % of the time I shoot at my private range ,which is located with earshot of a "resort" that's filled with urban dwellers during summer weekends. Every year at the begining of tourist season a newbie urban liberal wets his or her pants when they hear us shooting and call the sheriff to hysterically report that people are shooting machine guns nearby. The dispatchers know what's happening and reassure the newbie tourists that no one is violating any laws and there is no danger.
The moral to the story is that you don't need a bayonet to scare a liberal. The sound of several EBRs being fired at the same time is enough. |
| +1. It's designed to be dull to make the most traumatic, tearing, un-sealable wounds it can. A slash or thrust with a sharp-edged bayonet would leave the victim with a fine cut that could seal or mend easier. A slash or thrust with a dull-edged bayonet would leave a wider, torn wound. |

As grandpa always said, there's nothing more dangerous than a dull knife.. lol -L |
