| I was looking around for a FCG for my Maadi and noticed several different manufacturers. It seemed Tapco had the market cornered, but do they make the best FCG for the money? Anyone here use something other than Tapco? I've heard Arsenal makes a good FCG now, but the one I bought several years back looked out of spec. Anyone have any experience with Texas Triggers - http://texasaktriggers.com/ ? Please chime in with your .02 cents. |

My original "2-stage" K-var trigger in my Arsenal had reset issues. Basically the trigger didn't return forward after firing. I bought a standard "single-stage" K-var trigger group and haven't noticed any issues with it so far. Only reason I can see for poor reset is the springs are not positioned correctly. Both mine have very positive reset and they do not have any peculiar shapes that would cause poor reset that I can see. The springs weren't the issue. I checked them when it happened the first time. The K-var "2-stage" trigger group has a sharp burr on the hammer and trigger. The friction between the two burrs makes the "2-stage" trigger feel. As far as I could tell, one of these burrs was catching somewhere and causing the trigger to not fully reset. The K-var "single-stage" eliminates the burrs and so far I haven't had any more issues. |

The arsenal two stage trigger blows. |

Went G2, no regrets and best trigger pull of the 3 out of the box. |

Are 'Texas Triggers' still available? Emailed and never got a return email Bought one about 6 months ago, had a Yugo w/Nodak Spud receiver that would not work with a Tapco or a Red Star, the Texas AK group works perfectly and has a great pull. I mailed a postal money order, got it in about a week in a plain brown envelope that was hand written, no documents or instructions. |

I'm modifying my SGL31 receiver trigger hole to accommodate the double hook trigger. |

I prefer the Tapco G2 for general purpose use, and the stock Arsenal SGL 2-stage trigger for precision work.
The disconnector on the Arsenal stock FCG cracked in half after 4,000 rounds though. I guess U.S made AK parts are just not as robust as the Russian OEM parts. |
| I have never been a fan of US FCG's & I try to use the Chinese FCG's whenever I can. However, I do have a Century Golani [one of the rare good ones], & it has a Tapco G-2 FCG. While I don't know how durable it is, or how long it will last, it does feel quite nice. I will never admit it is as good as the Chinese FCG, but it is very nice. GARY N4KVE |
