I stopped by Gander Mountain earlier today and saw a bipod that I couldn't pass up. So I grabbed it along with a sling swivel screw and nut.

Having seen a video on YouTube where I believe the guy used an airsoft part I decided to do a little home brew myself. I worked a large washer to match the curve of the interior of my lower hand guard. Following that, I cut off the sides, roughly 1/4" per cut. The resulting washer dropped straight into the space above the slot in the hand guard.

I was excited to install the sling swivel and then the bipod, but when I tried to re-install the hand guard it would not fit! Talk about buzz kill.

So, I chucked a stone in my dremel and went to war with the washer. It was still not fitting, so I re-installed the sling swivel and started to contour the exposed nut. By the time I finished test fitting and grinding I had removed a fair amount of metal from the fastener, but it works! I have it on the rifle and have been staring at it for a few minutes now. Sure, I could have bought that part and finished the project much sooner, but I enjoy doing things myself!

ETA: This is on the PSL I just got in. Should have specified that in the beginning!

I admire your enthusiasm! I took the easy way out, Harris bi pod adapter,HB2R. Bi pods on PSL's have a definite cool factor.

Not quite a dinner pic, but this is the semi-finished product. Hoping to wrap my booger hook around the bang switch tomorrow!
