| Hey I am going to the birch run gun show for the first time on the 8th and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the AK selection there. I am looking to get my first Ak and I was curious if their is a pretty decent amount of AK's there for sale. I don't want a wasr but any decent AK for around 400-500 bucks, preferably synthetic stock. |
You can't own a rifle in Michigan that is under 26" when the stock is folded: most AK underfolders are about 25 3/4" when folded, so no dice for us. It's one of the stupidest laws ever. Also, rifles that are between 26"-30" must be registered as pistols |
They measure from the tip of slant brake to the farthermost part of the rifle, which is back of pistol grip, and that makes 26". That is the total length of rifle with stock folded. Slant brake does not have to be welded. AG who wrote this opinion did not mention how to measure and does not hold office anymore. Good riddance.
Of course. If these were not legal, dealers would not sell them and authorities would not register them. |
