Anyone try out and have any luck with any of the blueing products available.

like Cold blue, or Blue Wonder... I really want to blue my reciever and not paint it but I dont know the first thing about it.

I've had good luck with Oxpho blue. Not so great with Birchwood Casey.

Preparation is everything.

I was doing a battle field pick up and blued the recivier and buffed it down to make it match.

the stuff at Walmat came recommended from other builders and was surprised at the results. Perma Blue® Liquid Gun Blue

I have had no luck with the birchwood casey liquids... very uneven and streaky. I tried the brownells oxpho and it works well on smaller projects, but not so well when I tried it on a whole rifle. prep prep prep and pray
