Can anyone explain what this is? Yes im a moron but I have to figure this crap out sometime. So please tell me what bolt hold components are and what they are used for. |
|
The magazine follower is what holds the bolt open on the last shot. There are threads in the "magazine" section of this site on how to make your own. Once you do that you can buy or make a notched selector lever to hold the bolt when you dump the mag. Now stop being lazy and look around/search |
Thanks much for replying :) So they are not needed to shoot the gun and all? Btw I searched google and didnt get anything.. |
| As you were not specific on what type of bolt hold open devices I thought I would add the version that the Russian Saiga rifles have. The components for this is a spring and a stamped part that engages with the bolt carrier. Your receiver has to be modified for the button to protrude from. It pivots on the hammer pin. This will not hold your bolt open after the last shot, it needs to be manually engaged. Good for inspection purposes and at the range during a cease fire. |
