I just bought a AKS-74U  Bulgarian kit from Cope's.  Its missing the trigger guards.  I've seen Romanian AK47 Stocks with trigger guards around.  Would this be the same trigger guard or are the Krinkov trigger guards different?

Thanks

The trigger guards are the same, but the mag catch is different. The mag catch will work, it just won't be 'correct'.

Yeah, it's better to get the correct trigger guard kit to avoind any drama. K-Var appears to be out at the moment, but call DSA and see if they have them in stock.

Thanks guys I'll give DSA a call. I would much rather have the correct guard.  Even if I have to wait until the become available again.

Keep in mind, that "virgin" TG kit will require an additional work to it:
- Selector stop plate will need to be milled in the middle along it's length for proper magazine fit. Otherwise, the mag catch angle will be to steep for proper operation;
- Top edge of the mag latch need to be cut at 98 deg (counting from it's front surface);
- TG needs to be drilled in correct place to accommodate mag latch;
- Mag latch needs to be installed with special pin;

All the abobe operations are very critical for proper operation.

As of last month, ORF had AK74 take-off TG assemblies for $25. They don't list it on web, you will need to call.
