I've built plenty of AR's, but now I've got the crave to build an AK. I really really really want a SBR 5.45 krink, but I'm not old enought yet, so I have to improvise with a "regular" ak. I found a kit on AK files. the Kits is a romy with a fixed stock. I am looking at getting a Global receiver from Tom Sawyer / Likemopar. I am hoping to have it complete before June, 12. I have a few questions: Do I need to do any drilling on Global receivers to fit the stock? What tools do I need? How did you do your riveting and what is the easiest, cost effective way? Anything else I need to do? And is there an AK step by step pic tutorial like in the AR BIY forum? |

| there are, but i'd advise against it. many kits have slight variations on the rivet locations, and getting predrilled trunnion holes can be a much bigger hassle to deal with if they don't line up than not having any holes in the receiver to begin with. (in other words, it's much easier to drill them correctly once than try and "fudge" them into alignment) |
