Where is the best place to get them with all of the latching mechanism and parts? Will this one do everything I need it to for a Draco SBR conversion?

http://www.dsarms.com/Bulgarian-AKS-74-Folding-Stock-Assembly––-AKBFS/productinfo/AKBFS/

How hard will it be to add this to a draco?

Sorry I can't help, but I can't wait to see the results if you pull it off!

Good luck, something tells me you'll need it.

.

Your link goes to an add-on stock for rifles with standard rear trunnions.  While I've never personally converted a Draco, seems to me that once you replace the Draco's rear trunnion with the standard rear trunnion, the linked stock should be more or less a drop-in part that attaches with 1 or 2 screws.

If you want more of a side-folding Krink/AK74u look to your Draco, then you might want to get something like this and make the requisite cuts (and welds) in the receiver to fit it...  a much more involved process.

Russian AK74s Stock Assembly

Unfortunately, I don't know of a source for these at this time.  And when they are available, these stock sets are expensive.

Have you checked the AK Pistol Forum for ideas?

Its a pretty involved process.  You need to:
- Pay $200 tax
- remove existing rear trunnion
- weld up rivet holes
- change angle on rear of receiver without taking off too much material
- rivet in new trunnion and make appropriate cut outs for folder
- mill and drill front of receiver for latch (destroys original caliber markings so they need to be re engraved)
- refinish receiver

I think thats it.  Much easier to install an underfolder since you should already have the correct rear trunnion.

Midway USA had the Bulgarian triangle folders for sale a while back.  Very expensive though (200 dollar range)

I purchased mine from a gun show from a fellow who couldn't get it to fold.   A little bit of work with a dremel, and the stock was GTG.

I've never cared at all for Dracos, but I could get into that.  I'm sure it was pretty expensive as I know adding that folder to an already built rifle basically requires it to be completely disassembled.

If you go through with all that hassle and expense, you might as well get a Krink "SLR107UR" and SBR it.

I'm pretty sure the Draco would still come out a lot cheaper. A 107CR would be closer in price and configuration.

The 107UR's and 107CR's are getting pretty scarce!

$400 draco
$200 tax stamp
$200 - 300 for the triangle folding stock assembly
$400 for the work/finishing I would assume?

$1200 - 1300 for a SBR Draco folder

The photo looks pretty damn sweet.

Seems a lot easier to buy an NDS-1KP receiver and scrap the old one.

Unless all the cutting and welding is worth $80 to you.

There will be a shipment of Beryl 96 stocks coming soon.

$400 is kinda steep, I know people that would do it all for around 100-150.

I think the more important question is, when will the Beryl 96 stocks come in?

Thanks,

I have a complete Bulgarian triangle folder, still sealed in the plastic wrap (from KVAR I believe) with all the parts and pieces. I bought it with some other AK stuff about 10+ years ago. I have never opened it and I haven't laid eyes on it for at least 9 years. It's packed in a secure, climate controlled storage unit and it will be a major pain in the neck to go and dig it out. But I could be tempted if the price was right. What's a realistic top dollar price i could get? Keeping in mind that I don't need to sell it. I can't use it here in the Peoples' Republic of NY so I could be tempted.

Same here... I have a COMPLETE Bulgarian triangle folder kit that came from K-Var.. and a complete, new Bulgarian barrel assembly in 5.56 (also from K-Var) that I have had laying in my parts storage for about 7 or so years..

I had some time this afternoon so I did some searching. Here's what I have:

I was a little off on the time frame. I thought I bought this about 10 years ago, but I had a note attached to the package from April of 2004. In any event, it has remained in storage, unopened since then.

PS: A couple of guys have sent me PMs. I have to figure-out what I'm going to do, but I will get back to you.

You New York guys hold on to those side folders for now. I'm looking for a preban AR15 lower to trade on. Aren't those things like crack for yall?
