How was bumpfiring discovered? I`ve known about it for a few years but it seems like its been around for quite a while.

Also who started it?

I discovered it on my own 20 years ago when I looked down at my Maadi and the Hellfire device wasn't there anymore. When it first happened I thought I might be doing something illegal, LOL ...

Damn. You're good.

I used to be able to empty a whole 30 round mag, but not nearly that fast.

I can't afford it any more!

My guess is that people discovered it by benchrest shooting using a loose hold and a slow trigger pull.   I've had more than one rifle double up on me while doing this.

I think it's been around a while.  My grandfather taught me how to bumpfire an M1 Garand when I was a kid.  He said he learned to do it in the Pacific during WWII.

I still do it once in a while, just for kicks.  BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP   *PING*
