My son bought an SKS last Saturday at the Valley Forge Gun Show in PA. It is a CGA SKS. It is new in the box and he paid $125.00 for it. When we got home we looked up CGA and we found out it was imported by a Company that was shut down by the ATF. Here is a posting my son found on an other site. I will insert some pictures when my picture hosting site comes back up. Does anyone have any other input on the CGA SKS Rifles? Thank You, Dane March 26th, 2005, 03:14 AM "...GLNIC LA CA is "GLNIC Corporation of America", a company based in California, but owned by the People's Liberation Army of China. GLNIC may stand for "Guangdon Lingnan Ind. Corp." or "Guangdon Lingnan Import Company". I've found information indicating that "CGA" may be stamped on the trunnion ahead of the serial numbers on early-import GLNIC AK47S rifles, and that CGA was the exporter for GLNIC-imported AK47S and SKS rifles. I have to wonder if "CGA" was another acronym for China Jing An..." This came from, here, but I have no idea of its validity. http://www.internetliberationfront.com/articles/chinajingan.shtml CJA was closed by the ATF for illegally importing and selling FA Korean AK's. The short amount of internet research I did indicates your rifle was actually made by Norinco. If nothing else, you have a bit of info about your rifle. In any case, an SKS is an SKS. |

cga is just an importer like hundreds of others they got themselves in trouble there was even an importer of norinco's here in PA. There is nothing special about cga rifles other than most that I have seen were commercial sks rifles imported my companies other than norinco's thats all Iknow maybe someone else will have more knowledge |

if that is the correct bayonet to that rifle it is militery issue but no factory marking got me stumped. did you strip it down and check? because china exported millions of sks rifles to other countries militaries for example my sks was exported to egypt via china and ended up here some how there may be other markings under the wood |

Dan, My son paid $125.00 for it. This gun came from the Estates sale of Walt Langendorfer. Walt was a personal friend of mine plus I worked for him part time for many years. Walt was the inventor and patent holder of the Rhino Gas Piston System for the AR15/M16 Rifle. Walt was a big time Military firarms collector and never shot any weapons in his collection. We have sold most of his collection. My son found a circle with an A in it and a circle with a K in it on the barrel. I haven't looked at it yet. When I do look at it I will take more pictures and send them to you of the markings. Should my son look in certain areas for other markings? How do I get the flip down magazine out? |
mag.... take the receiver cover off then remove the bolt carrier and bolt then put the safety on there will be a push lever behind the trigger guard push it in hard and the trigger group will pop up, pull it out now your mag is ready to remove some will slide right out and some you will have to push out it will drop out of the bottom. the letters in the circles are safety check marks by the arsenal |
