I have a Century GP1975 which is made from a Romy parts kit with a US made barrel. The FSB is canted to the right, and of course it shoots too far to the left.
So I decided to attempt to fix it. I went to the Romy AK site, and followed the instructions on correcting FSB cant. Okay, I was able to knock out the two FSB retaining pins with a punch and hammer, no problems so far. But now I cant seem to be able to move the FSB. First I soaked the area with Kroil, then attempted to move it to the left with a deadblow hammer and large brass drift. No luck, it didn't budge! So I got out my trusty Wagner heat gun and procceded to heat the FSB, but it still won't move Am I doing something wrong? Did I leave anything out? Any suggestions before I go completely crazy on this thing? |

Before getting to rough, make sure the barrel and front sight is in a well braced "no bounce-no move" setup on hard wood blocks.
Whenever you're trying to remove a pin or get a tight part to shift, if when you strike it, it bounces or moves, the force is dissipated and nothing happens. If necessary, get a buddy to help hold things down while you bump the support. Always strike as low on the base as you can to prevent actually bending the support. |
