Hey jug!

Lets see some pics of that kit.    Took me about a two hours to clean the cosmo off those two yugo kits.  Are all the parts present?  How does the wood look?  Happy for $350 bucks? Oh yea, how does the metal look?

You guys are a lot of trouble ... Pics ? ... Parts ? ... Hell,  Who knows ?

LoL .... Yes I'll post some pics later today ... Cosmoline not bad ... Had much worse !!

All here except cleaning rod and someone had already warned me about that .. Ordered rod from K- Var and of course a bunch of other stuff while I was there !!   the wife u know ....

Wood looks great ... 85% + on metal - One side of the bipod doesn't lock down good but I can fix that ...

More like $400.00 with all that hand picked stuff you know + shipping ...

So far I'm very pleased ... I hope jnewt will be pleased with it ... I promised to get him the best stuff I could ..................

Later guys ....

Ok guys ... this is it ... Straight out of the box !!

Hand picked for extendable bipod - Hand picked for condition ... + $11.00 shipping = $400.00

Not much cosmoline at all ... Looks pretty good to me ...

It will look better when jnewt gets done with it ... ;)

What year is it?

I'm hoping to score one this week or next, only I want a fixed bipod, like my Bulgy.

We need more pics, DAMMIT!

EDIT- WTF is with the lack of cleaning rods?

Also, was your trigger guard wasted?

This one is '75 ... #'s all match ... I'm really pleased with the bore & chamber ... No cleaning rod !!

Trigger guard might be salvaged ... Torch cut the corner dammit ... I may call Centerfire on that ...

I'm not sure I can buy one anywhere ... Shouldn't have to ....

The new Russian wood set I got from Stottman and jnewt's magic will probably make this my favorite thing to show off & shoot .... Got to get a Romy Drum no doubt ...

I'll post whatever pics you'd like ... Close ups of what ? ... Let me know ...

Will be tomorrow tho ... Gotta go Opossum huntin' for Travis ... He's hungry and I need 2 more Slabsides .......

PS: Travis Jealous ??? ... Man I will never have a collection such as yours .... :(

You know - I would ask Lois nicely if she would find you a cleaning rod - since you did pay the 'hand pick' charge.  Just a thought.

Nice kit.  I like RPKs alot.

I breezed through your post....what receiver were you going with?  I hope it's one of the ones from Greenlight Arms that has the reliefs for the heavy front trunnion....

Thanks Krinkfreak and Templar ... jnewt has suggested we wait and see on the receiver ... He wants to hear some reviews on these new RPK receivers and so do I ...

I've seen the Greenlight and it looks very promising ...

What do you guys think ?

6/8/2005 6:39:15 PM EDT
[#30]
At this point, I don't even think Greenlight has RPK recs out yet, just Yugo recs.

Just going to have to wait a bit longer.
6/8/2005 6:41:16 PM EDT
[#31]
My RPK was built a couple of years ago, and no RPK receivers were available at that time.  Subsequently, Troy Sellars used a new front trunnion and an OOW receiver.

If I ever put another one together, or go with a Yugo Kit, I'm going to use the RPK receiver which supports the heavy front trunnion.

Krink ... That's a fine rifle !! ... Beautiful !!

With or without the RPK Receiver it's very nice ... Love that look !!!

The guy at Greenlight emailed a pic of the first or second one he stamped out ...

It was a little off because he adj the die and stamped it twice ... looked pretty damn close !!

If I can find that pic I'll post it ...

Mbsk01 ... I promise to post some close-ups tomorrow man ... I'm just too tired tonight ...

I emailed Centerfire about the cleaning rod and trigger guard ... Let you know tomorrow also ...

Thanks Guys ......

This kit was missing the cleaning rod and the trigger guard was torched (ruined) ...

Rest of kit is good if not great !!
