What cheek welds are favored? I'm sure that preferences are varied due to different stock lengths and drops. My AK stock is a standard/short length, straight with no angling down. For consistency, I find it best to have my nose tip at the left rear bottom corner of the top cover(right handed). Similiar to nose on the charging handle with an AR. |

If I understand what you are asking, I don't think there is a "prefered way". What ever works best for you is the cheek weld that will be best for you. No two people have the same cheek weld. Do not force your cheek into the stock, but find a position that is comfortable and use it consistantly. Once you get used to it, you will naturally go straight to it without thinking about it. |

"Do not force your cheek into the stock..." i really press into it...as long as you aren't steering the rifle from the rear, it gives me the most consistant sight picture. my nose just touches the action cover release button as a reference point. hey! it's a ak-74...no recoil! |
