This is somewhat off topic because this drum is for an AR.  It is larger than my other drum, so I am assuming it is a 100 round mag.  Anything I need to be aware of for the .223 round?  Loading and winding seem to be the same.  Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.  By the way, it looks absolutely stupid/cool on the AR pistol.

Post a pic.
I didn't know of chicom .223 drums in the US. Do you mean a Beta mag?

No, not a Beta mag.  I'm pretty sure it's Chinese.  Hinged back with two latches and winding key.  Has '36' inside a triangle like my 75 round AK mag.  If I knew anything about posting a pic I would.  However, I remain computer challenged.

It might be a 5.45 mag. I don't know about those numbers though.

I have a 90 round chinese 223 drum that fits an ak and in my quest for knowledge I came across some photos and info that some of the drums were converted in the US for AR use by exchanging the short feed tower with a taller one.If I can find it again I,ll pass it on. The .223 drum should have 13 large bays around the spider (the 7.62 only has 11) and there is no horizontal locating slot on the back cover between the latches on the 223.The 223 drum I have is just about the same size as my 7.62 75 rounder and smaller than my 7.62 100 rounder

If it is bigger than your other chinese 7.62 75 rounder it might be a modified chinese 100  for the AR in 7.62

The Chinese 5.56x45mm/223 Remington drum holds 120rds and is the exact same design as the 75rd and 100rd 7.62x39mm drums. You load it the same way you do the 7.62x39mm Chinese drums.

Everybody-  Thanks for the help on this puppy.  I do appreciate it.
